Happy #WW to everyone! As you may know, Wednesdays are reserved for Writers Worth on Twitter, and this is why I named my brand new site after this beloved tradition. 

If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out this post. I know the Author Intros were supposed to be a feature on this blog, but I couldn't help myself... my organizational brain parts wouldn't allow it. Simply because I wanted to keep the intros separate and systematic. Not just cluttered around my blog posts!

I’ve been thinking lately… my entire twitter family is composed by writers (mostly).

This is not because I want to close myself off to the rest of the twitterverse. Rather, I’ve done it because I’ve never had ‘real life’ writer friends, not really. I don’t go to conferences or writing groups (just occasionally), so I’m mainly depending on Twitter, Goodreads, Facebook, and Google+ to stay updated about the Publishing world and to meet like-minded people.

Have you ever read something you'd written a while back and were shocked to discover parts of your life weaved into the story? I bet you have. In fact, I just did. And here's the story.

For the past couple of years, I have felt somewhat lost. Nothing I cannot fix in long-term, but it's a very frustrating place to be after a while. So much so, my writing has suffered the worst of it. Instead of completing the book I started in the Spring of 2010, I let it sit and collect dust for too long.

Some of you may know I’ve been working on a super-secret project for a few days now. Well it’s time to take the blinds off baby, ‘cos we have a lift-off!

Basically, I couldn’t resist getting even more involved in NaNo this year. And you already know I love collaborations, so… I figured it out. A site made for guest-blogging! The beauty of it is, it’ll be more like a community blog, though I’ll be the one posting everything. But since it’s a community blog, everyone can post with minimal objections on my side. Yay!

Meet My Child-Muse

You might recall that I did this collaboration called Meet the Muse where I asked some fellow writers to describe their muses in less than 100 words. And now I think it would be only fair if I did the same but with more words. 

Thing is, I have two muses. I guess it’s only logical for a person with two names (my real and my pseudonym). I don’t know why I always have to make things complicated, but I do. And today I’m going to talk about my child-muse. Soon you’ll get to read about Nereth, who is a shape-shifter, and whom I like to call the Wise River Lady.

But first things first…

My parents are strange people. My mother likes to party and my dad likes to play computer games. My mum likes to travel and meet new people, my dad likes to be alone in the comfort of his home. My dad is an introvert, my mum an extravert.

My theory is that they met during a cosmic fart that messed up the alignment of history a little bit. You know, like when Michael Jackson decided to change color and when Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden came out. About that time.

It's Me Against the Odds, Baby

Notice anything different at all?

Yes, I did. Now, I promise this will be the last surprise I spring on you guys but it had to be done. Why did I change the title? Because I wanted a more personalized name and URL, and also because Kristen Lamb was right when she advised that every author should put their name in the title of their blog. Yes I know that Lyn Midnight is not my name but it’s the alias I go by when I write.

If you have read The Dark Half by Stephen King, you’d know how the author’s alias (Stark) came to life and tried to overpower the MC. While Lyn is not going anywhere near my power source, she is also not going anywhere, period. I can never leave her behind  because of our history together.

It’s she who started to write, not me.
