How Story-Telling Improves Your Child's Well-Being

First of all, let me start with a disclaimer: I am not a Mum blogger, I am an au pair.
Second, let me tell you how I’ve enriched (or at least I believe I did) a five-year-old’s life in the past few months. As some of you know, I moved to Rome last August, and I’ve loved my new job, my new friends, and overall my new life. The toddler boy in question has made my life richer and happier as well!

Fairy Tales and Beedle the Bard

I have been debating what to blog about today, but nothing useful or fun sprung up, so I decided to wing it and do a book review. Then again, the book I read most recently is The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K.Rowling. I can hear you protesting that you've had enough of Harry Potter from me, but... well, I'm winging it, so it doesn't count. Ha.

What struck me as I re-read this little gem I found in my bookcase, dwarfed by bigger and heavier books (I'd rather not give titles because then you'd know my darkest secrets), was that it bore just as much strength as those other books surrounding it. With only 108 pages of illustrated magic, Beedle's Tales was a literary treat I swallowed without chewing first.

(F2) Storytelling in Video Games

What? I thought it was all about killing monsters and conquering lands! Wait, let's rewind.

J.F. Jenkins is a mother, fantasy writer, and gamer fan. If you ask me, it’s a good combination as any. When she came to me with the idea for the article, I was pleasantly surprised. If you think that gamers are only into their games and don’t have much time for anything else, you’d be wrong. This lady here has published a book called Legend of the Oceina Dragon (Kindle edition), and she is plotting the rest of the saga as we speak. In addition, she gives sneak peeks from Book 2 on her blog, so go check it out.
